The initial Alpha version of The Forest (v0.01) used the registry for saving games which I admit was strange.
Alpha.01b (Hotfix #2 due to bugs in windows xp professional product key 2014 the original hotfix the developers moved the save game file from the registry to the AppData folder.You can find the registry key for save game files under:.You can delete this save game by right clicking and choosing Delete.The Data field for this key contains the binary information (serialized data) for your save game.Open the following key on the LHS:.Top game cheats, trainer Index Categories, up).It even caused a few bugs because the binary data was truncated and players were losing inventory items or the game would crash.Open Regedit (Start - Run - Regedit).They can be deleted using Windows explorer or the registry editor, depending which version of The Forest you're playing.
Saving is an ability the player gains when they built.
I have uninstalled local content from steam and re-installed game just in case, but would like to know about the location of the save games so i can check all previous data is deleted.
Developer has yet to address this.
Is it possible that the game is looking at an old save and if so where can i find the saves to delete them?
For single player games it allows the player to save their position in the world and keep their inventory the same so they can safety quit the game and return to continue where they last saved.
